UNDERSTANDING HOLINESS
(Calling It What God Calls It)
(Calling It What God Calls It)
(Calling It What God Calls It)
If there is a term among Christians that has been the cornerstone for divisions for many centuries, it is the word "holiness". Arguments on "why should a Christian do this?" or "why shouldn't a Christian do that?"
(Please follow CAREFULLY)
Now this post is for the purpose of making it clear that we should never be too in a hurry to call it pride when a believer says that he can heal the sick.
Jesus said, "HEAL the sick", NOT "I will heal the sick through you."

All through the four Gospels in Jesus' ministry on earth, he had only ONE thing to do with demons — TO CAST THEM OUT.
Matthew 8:16
[16]When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were POSSESSED WITH DEVILS: and HE CAST OUT THE SPIRITS with his word, and healed all that were sick.
(Praying in Jesus’ Name)
Matthew 1:21(KJV)
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his NAME Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Now, NAME is the Greek word "onoma", which could either be literal or figurative. It is obviously literal here, as it means he would be named Jesus—people would begin to call him Jesus.
(Praying in Jesus’ Name)
First off, I strongly recommend that you read this only if you have gone through the first part.
That said,
It's important to know that the name JESUS is a Jewish name. Our Lord and Saviour was never the only one who bore that name.
Healing is God's will for everyone sick today.
God feels the same about everyone else. He does not afflict anyone with sicknesses and diseases either to prove a point or to teach someone a lesson. Rather, he specializes in healing and delivering the oppressed.
God doesn't just want the sick to be healed, he wants us to enjoy good health and vitality.
It is on record that Moses, who died at the age of 120, even after 40 years of leading the children of Israel was as strong as ever.
The church is one—one body. Jesus never died to raise individuals but a family.
A journey out of God's will is thinking or acting otherwise. This was the problem of the church in Corinth and Paul had to deal with this with almost a whole epistle.
Many a "word" folk today has gone into a criticism frenzy, mostly as a result of their "circle", and of course, they don't know. You see it gradually becoming a craze to impulsively talk down some gospel songs (especially old songs) without critically analyzing them.
Like I put it in the prequel, this admonition is basically to "word" folks who have become critics. It is important to be very careful to analyse Christian songs correctly with God's word before speaking against some.
But you should be bitter against him."
"Why do you always seem to find it easy to forgive when you get hurt?"
"Why are you like this?"
"What are you thinking?"
Same thing Jesus was thinking when he forgave us our sins.
(Correcting Flippant Use)
HALLELUJAH is translated from a combination of two root Hebrew words. One is a variant of halal (הָלַל) which is hallel (לְהַלֵל). This means to praise; to glorify. The other word is Yah (יָהּ), the shortened form of God’s name, Yahweh (יְהוָֹה).
(Correcting Flippant Use)
This statement shouldn't just be a lingo amongst christians; it should be well understood. “Glory to God!” means “Glory be unto God!”
(Correcting Flippant Use)
It is the Greek word ὡσαννά believed to be the transliteration of two Hebrew words— יָשַׁע- (yasha) which means “to save or deliver” and אָנּאָ (anna) which means “please; I beseech.”
(Correcting Flippant Use)
AMEN means SO BE IT.
Many have fallen into the error of re-translating this to "so shall it be." That's actually very wrong.
(Introduction: The Indwelling of the Holy Spirit)
This is one salient rule of Bible interpretation that cannot be overemphasized, not just for accuracy in understanding but also as an aid to leading the absolute Christian life God in all of His graciousness has blessed us with.
(Invoking God’s Presence)
Right from time immemorial, and even before Christianity was established by our Lord, God has always been the same.
(The Reality of Eternal Life)
It is important to know that eternal life was God's master plan for man right before man was created.
(The Reality of Salvation )
The word “salvation”, though arguably the most common term in Christianity, is sadly one of the most misunderstood [For a better understanding of this subject, listen to the teaching, Salvation in Christ Jesus (2021)].
(The Sinner vs The Saint)
Many of us can easily point out that these two terms are not the same at all, that they are, in fact, word and opposite. Great! But the challenge comes at this point: On what premise are they different? .
(What Did Jesus Teach about Honorarium?)
In Matthew’s gospel, which contains accounts of Jesus preaching and also many miracles which He did, after about 13 instances in which so many people were healed of their sicknesses and diseases (and also the stilling of the storm), when Jesus looked up and saw the multitude, He admitted that God needs more men for the work...
(What Did Paul Teach about Honorarium?)
In the ninth chapter of Paul’s first letter to the church of God at Corinth, he emphasized a few important things regarding the welfare of ministers of the gospel. To begin with, he was teaching on brotherly love and a pattern of self-denial in light of this (chapter 8 into chapter 9)...
(Vital Lessons to Learn)
The etymology of the word “honorarium” has to do with the word “honour” in the light of a “gift.”
The basic difference between an honorarium and a gift is that a gift is something given freely to someone in form of money, goods, and so forth...
