UNITY IN DEMONSTRATING THE HOLY GHOST
(A brief admonition)
(A brief admonition)
The church is one—one body. Jesus never died to raise individuals but a family.
A journey out of God's will is thinking or acting otherwise. This was the problem of the church in Corinth and Paul had to deal with this with almost a whole epistle.
See this
1 Corinthians 12:13-21(KJV)
13. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
14. For the body is not one member, but many.
15. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
16. And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
17. If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
18. But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
19. And if they were all one member, where were the body?
20. BUT NOW ARE THEY MANY MEMBERS, YET BUT ONE BODY.
21. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
It's time to quit seeking personal plaudits and start focusing on God's will. God wants a family; God made a family.
Like Daniel K. Norris once put it, in his commentary on the Azusa Street revival of 1906, it's time to quit selfishness and disunity and begin to act in oneness. This is the key to seeing the miraculous "once again" in our gatherings. God is not looking for another church; He is looking for one church.
The church is first a family before a gathering. Let malice, pride, and division disappear, and we will see the "revival" we so seek. Probably this is the key we have not slotted into the keyhole.
Divisions and individualism hinder the flow of God's power in Christian gatherings. But truly, this isn't always the case. Many a time, it doesn't hinder the flow of God's power; it only hinders you from being a part of the flow.
